Sara and Kyle are brand new to the motorhome lifestyle. Since their kids have grown older, they've been inspired to show them this great nation that we live in and what better way to see it than by traveling in their motorhome! Sometimes it's not just the destination but the journey and traveling in their Entegra Coach Vision XL that allows them to enjoy the journey. Their travel plans will mostly revolve around weekends and extended weekends, so it’s a perfect fit for them with both working full time and two children in school. This lifestyle does require a bit of warrior spirit, as they are often on a tighter schedule with fewer days to reach their destination and make the most of the experience. They are excited to use the motorhome to explore every state and venture off the beaten path.
When we first hit the road in our motorhome, we thought summer would be the highlight of our travels. Long days, family road trips, and plenty of sunshine seemed like the perfect recipe for making memories. But the more we’ve camped, the more we’ve realized, there’s just something about fall.
The Midwest puts on a show this time of year. The air turns crisp, the leaves paint the landscape in shades of gold and red, and campgrounds feel alive with seasonal events. From pumpkin carving contests to hayrack rides, fall camping brings a sense of community you don’t always get in the busy summer months.
One of our favorite parts of fall camping is how it feels slower and more intentional. The kids get a break from the chaos of school schedules and sports practices, and we get to just be a family. Evenings are spent gathered around a crackling fire under the stars, mornings are cozy with a cup of coffee by the fireplace inside our motorhome, and days are filled with adventures that don’t require rushing from one thing to the next.
And can we talk about campfires? Fall is hands-down the best campfire season. It’s cool enough to want the warmth, but not so cold that you’re bundled up like a snowman. Plus, s’mores somehow taste even better when the air smells like falling leaves.
So while summer may get all the hype, fall camping has our hearts. The slower pace, the beauty of nature, and the cozy comforts of our motorhome make it a season we look forward to all year long.
If you’re thinking about extending your camping season, fall is the perfect time to do it. We promise, you won’t regret those crisp mornings, colorful hikes, and peaceful evenings by the fire.
