The idea of a “summer place” at the lake we frequent (and where our boat calls home), has been a dream for the past few years. It’s about five hours from our home, so having a place to stay has always felt like a must with every trip but instead of renting, we wanted somewhere we could return to. Somewhere that felt familiar the second we pulled in. For a long time, we thought that meant owning a second home.

But this summer, we realized… it didn’t. Or at least not in the way we originally thought. At some point, without even trying to, our Entegra Coach stopped feeling like just a way to travel and started feeling like home. The kind where everything has its place. Where the kids know exactly where their things are. Where mornings feel familiar, no matter where we parked the night before.

And that’s when it really clicked for us, we already have our summer house in our Entegra! 

But with more perks, one being that we’re not tied to the one lake. If we want a different view, a different shoreline, or a different kind of weekend, we don’t have to start over. We don’t have to repack everything. We don’t have to worry if our pup will be allowed to come with us. We don’t have to leave behind the things that make life feel comfortable.

We just go. Because our home comes with us.

Our coffee mugs, our blankets, the kids’ favorite things, the little details that turn a space into our space, they’re already here. And that changes everything. It takes the pressure off planning, makes last-minute trips feel easy and it turns any lake (not just our lake) into somewhere that feels familiar.

That’s the part we didn’t expect. Not just the freedom to travel, but the ability to feel at home wherever we end up. We didn’t originally think of our motorhome as a summer house but somewhere along the way, we realized it could be just that.

It just happens to have wheels. 🚐☀️

Sara and Kyle are brand new to the motorhome lifestyle. Since their kids have grown older, they've been inspired to show them this great nation that we live in and what better way to see it than by traveling in their motorhome! Sometimes it's not just the destination but the journey and traveling in their Entegra Coach Vision XL that allows them to enjoy the journey. Their travel plans will mostly revolve around weekends and extended weekends, so it's a perfect fit for them with both working full time and two children in school. This lifestyle does require a bit of warrior spirit, as they are often on a tighter schedule with fewer days to reach their destination and make the most of the experience. They are excited to use the motorhome to explore every state and venture off the beaten path.
