Maintenance Tip: Run the heater in the summer? YES!
The dog days of summer call for ice-cold lemonade and a cool blast of A/C. Your Entegra Coach has you covered with the A/C part—but what you may not know is, you still need to run your heater periodically during the summer.
We recommend running the heater at least twice a month—even when the mercury rises—to circulate the boiler antifreeze throughout the system. This will ensure that your pumps stay clean and won’t seize up.
Worried about an unnecessary heat wave? There’s a way to keep the sweat at a minimum:
- Turn on your floor heat and your basement heat for about 20 minutes; this will be sufficient to circulate all of the fluid out of the tank and into the lines.
- While you’re at it, take the opportunity to clean the cold air returns for your A/C units.
- The easiest way to clean the filters is with the central vacuum as opposed to removing the vent and filter from the ceiling.
